Product Description
Rain was hit by car in Tunisia and her front right leg was badly injured. Despite the local vet’s best efforts, the surgery was not a total success, so now she has a crooked front leg. While she was in her foster home in Tunisia, this did not seem to bother her much. It is also true that she did not move much or go for walks and with more than 50 other animals in her care, her foster mum could not observe her so closely. Since she arrived in her foster home in Germany two weeks ago, things started to look a bit different. It seems that she does not have any sensitivity in this leg, she is just dragging it around and since she’s now going on short walks (which she loves!), she started to have bruises and an open wound, despite the special precautions of her foster mum. Therefore we decided that it is best to have her seen by a specialist and see what is best to do. Unfortunately it’s not looking good. The doctor confirmed that she has no sensitivity in the leg. Paralysis was caused by the trauma she suffered in the accident, which caused an injury of the peroneal nerve in the leg. If the nerve injury is suspected to be permanent (which it is in her case), amputation is the best option.
